Mission
The Summer Camp Project is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to giving children from under-resourced communities a life-changing week away—because every child deserves to thrive, explore, and simply be a kid.
Camp builds life skills, strengthens wellbeing, and creates memories that last well beyond August. We believe in the power of belonging, strong relationships, and a committed community building brighter futures together.
The Calling
“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.”
Our culture is built on a simple belief: people and experiences should enrich one another.
Relationship Development
“Surround yourself only with people who are going to take you higher.”
A guiding philosophy of heartfelt, genuine connection — with the kids we serve, the team we build, and the communities we call home.
Our Values
Five foundational values that shape both the camper experience and our workplace culture:
Ownership: Team members take initiative and lead with empathy, personalizing every camper’s experience.
Passion: We do what we love, bringing energy that turns a good day into an unforgettable one.
Authenticity: Open, honest communication and a commitment to lifting each other up.
Innovation: We look for better ways to connect kids, campers, and community — always finding fresh ways to make impact last.
Collaboration: We build relationships together, as stewards of the traditions and communities we serve.
A Sense of Belonging
Belonging isn’t a place — it’s something a child carries home with them.
We believe presence alone isn’t enough; a child can be there and still feel unseen. So we build spaces where every kid feels Safe, Seen, and Welcome — fully in the moment, away from the noise that usually competes for their attention, and free to just be a kid.
Our scholarships aren’t just for a trip. They’re for the experience of togetherness — where no child is treated differently.
Community-Centric Commitments
